A really good common sense, step by step manual. After following these steps it made a huge difference to how my makeup looked and lasted throughout the day.

Reading this book is a bit like have Bobbi there to talk to. I have seen her on TV and love her common sense ideas about beauty and I also love the natural beauty she has and the other she has included in her book.

I felt more beautiful already after the first couple of chapters. I couldn't put it down! This book clarified a lot of things for me that are often overlooked in popular media. The author goes into detail about her experiences on and off the set with various makeup and hair products, revealing some of the secrets of the industry in the process, and she doesn't skip the importance of a healthy diet and fitness regime. This book is a gift to anyone who wants to let some of their inner beauty shine on the outside as well!

This is a great book. Very few cover such a wide range of topics, which not really being makeup do apply to viewing a finished makeup. They even have a great chapter on air brush makeup, and this is the first time I've seen this.

I purchased this book after having seen it at my friends house. It has great make up tips on applications in different styles. Easy reading layout with nice photo examples. I like the wide variety of individuals who exemplify beauty throughout the pages of the book with lots of make up ideas and possibilities ranging from the most natural to drag queens. I really like my new book and found the inexpensive paperback to be a great purchase.

I'm a makeup artist and am always looking for good books to advance my skills or to just get a refresher. I really enjoyed this book and how it broke down certain things like eye shapes, colors and even the best ingredients for specific eye concerns. Some of the looks were great but there was also a good amount of them that I didn't care for our see my clients caring for. It also had quite a large section on eye looks for glasses which I don't see in a lot of books like this. Overall it was a great addition to my collection.

I am a personal fashion stylist, and consume tons of fashion and style-related content on a daily basis from blogs, magazines, etc. so it is rare that I read anything new and educational. Most of the material out there about fashion is regurgitated from the same sources.
This book was a complete exception. It totally wowed me with its cover to cover tips and practical advice. There was so much in here that I've already been able to share some new tips with my clients. Alison shares so much information about tricks to remove stains, make clothing fit better, improve the comfort of your clothing, and so on that could only be gathered from years of experience. If was so refreshing to read a book written by someone who isn't afraid to actually share valuable knowledge!
